ExoVirtual Desktop – mixed reality showcase
The core of ExoVirtual Desktop is designed to allow people to quickly and easily use their computer in virtual reality. The biggest downside to hand tracking on the Oculus Quest is the lack of tactile feedback. So we set out to resolve that while developing an app that will help bridge the gap between virtual reality and reality.
In this video you can see that we have created a mixed reality situation where the user is able to see their keyboard, mouse, and desk area in VR. But they also can feel them in the real world as they use them. Providing the perfect amount of tactile feedback and sense of surroundings for even new VR users to feel at home.
This experience allows anyone to easily use their computer in virtual reality, but they are also able to quickly switch from the passthrough camera and back to the app seamlessly. Allowing them to shut out distractions or look around and interact with the real world, without having to take off the VR headset.
